21 April to 2 May

We left Sydney on the Indian Pacific train on 21 April for an overnight trip to Adelaide. This was something of a disappointment: the food was not really of the promised quality, and the overnight ride was so rough that we got very little sleep.

We then had four nights in Adelaide, which included a half-day City Sights tour and a full-day tour of the Barossa Valley.

On 26 April, we were picked up from our hotel for a transfer to Mannum, where we joined a four-night cruise on the PS Murray Princess. This was a very relaxing experience, which we greatly enjoyed. The cruise route is shown below:
