Afternoon Tagus River cruise

In Lisbon, we went for a cruise on the Tagus River, which we had met a month earlier at Toledo.
		Leaving from Praça do Comércio, we first went upstream, past the Cathedral. *
		The Costa Fortuna was still following us. *
		We went past modern architecture ... *
		and disused gasworks ... *
		until we reached the Vasco da Gama Bridge. †
		This was close to the site of the Lisbon Expo '98. *
		†
		Then the boat turned around, and went back past Praça do Comércio. †
		We went under the 25 April Bridge ... *
		and past a concrete Christ ... †
		and the Monument of the Discoveries. *
		†
		We got as far as the Belém Tower, then returned to Praça do Comércio. †

Return to Lisbon or go on to Portland.
