Sunday was our last day in Paris. After some housekeeping (laundry, packing), we set off in rotten weather to visit the Opéra Garnier. We knew that it would be grand, but had not realised quite how grand. * |

After lunch, we wanted to take some final photos of Paris, but the weather defeated us. * |

So we took the Métro back to Pigalle and sat in a café, where Nick had a proper chocolat chaud: a cup with liquid chocolate and a separate jug of hot milk. * |

Just to finish up: each time we go to Paris, Lynn looks for "Space Invaders" mosaics on buildings. This time, she managed to find some. * |

So at 7 am on Monday, we were outside the apartment, waiting for a taxi to take us on the first stage of a 25-hour journey to Portland, Oregon.
