Arriving in Perth, we had some time to kill before meeting the owner of the apartment where we would stay, so we paid a short visit to the Botanic Garden in King Park. After failing to find everlasting daisies anywhere in the bush, there was a display of them in the middle of Perth. † |

Then by two free buses to Barrack Street Wharf, where this Bell Tower was built in 2000. It contains bells from St Martin in the Fields in London, a gift from the Queen. * |

We found that a boat would be leaving shortly for a cruise along the Swan River to Fremantle and back, so we decided to take the trip. This was a huge car carrier that had just arrived in Fremantle. * |
